Behind-the-scenes with Teresa Sabin, Project Manager, at Voyant.

From High School Intern to Project Leader: Teresa Sabin’s Journey at Voyant

If you’ve worked on a product launch, you’ve probably crossed paths with Teresa Sabin—one of Voyant’s most experienced and dedicated project managers. Teresa’s story is one of growth, resilience, and a deep-rooted commitment to teamwork and excellence.

Teresa began her journey with Voyant straight out of high school as a business-focused intern. Her first role was as a secretary in the sales department, and by 1991, she was working full time. Over the years, she’s worn many hats: sales, marketing, customer service, and now, project management—a role she’s held for several years and truly made her own. Most of her career has been spent in the hotel amenities division, where she’s helped bring everything from custom products to national account programs to life.

Developing a Project Plan — From Concept to Launch

For Teresa, every new project begins with a spark of vision. Partnering closely with the sales team, she transforms that vision into a fully realized product launch.

Once our team defines the scope and deliverables, Teresa takes the lead — selecting product and packaging formats, finalizing specifications, establishing the creative design direction, and building a timeline that keeps every step on track.

Whether she’s bringing a one-of-a-kind custom concept to life or rolling out a branded line, Teresa is the conductor ensuring every moving part is in harmony. The result is a seamless, successful launch that delivers exactly what was envisioned — and often, a little more.

A Multifaceted Background Shapes a Multifaceted Approach

Her experience working across multiple departments has significantly shaped her project leadership approach. Time in finance provided valuable insight into cost structures, while her marketing background sharpened her understanding of customer perspectives and product positioning. This cross-functional expertise enables her to collaborate more effectively with internal and external teams, as she has a clear understanding of their objectives and the challenges they face.

Favorite Project? One for the History Books

Of all the programs she has led, one continues to stand out: the 1999 launch for the Paris Las Vegas hotel. The project featured a distinctive range of amenities — three custom bottle designs tailored to different room types, elegantly wrapped soaps in tins lined with tissue paper, and vibrant, uniquely crafted labels. Bold in concept and striking in execution, the launch was well ahead of its time and remains one of her most celebrated career achievements.

The Joys and Challenges of Project Management

What keeps Teresa motivated is the variety her role offers. She takes pride in seeing a project move from concept to completion, especially when she encounters the finished product in a hotel setting. Moments of personal connection, such as hearing from a family member who has discovered her work while traveling, make the accomplishment even more rewarding.

Managing multiple projects simultaneously, however, requires focus and discipline. Overseeing as many as ten initiatives at once demands careful coordination and adaptability. Teresa approaches these challenges with a steady, solutions-focused mindset, maintaining positivity even when plans change. Her philosophy is simple: stay calm, keep moving forward, and trust the process — the results will follow.
